Culpeper Regional Hospital (CRH) Radiation Oncology Service, in partnership with UVA Health System, offers our community easy access to state-of-the-art radiation therapy. Patients in Culpeper, Madison, Orange, Rappahannock, and Southern Fauquier now have the option of receiving expert, quality cancer care close to home.

Dedicated to providing exceptional care and treatment, our oncology team consists of University of Virginia Health System faculty physicians, physicists, and clinicians with advanced subspecialty expertise in radiation oncology. Patients coming to CRH for radiation therapy are treated with the TomoHD treatment system. As the latest version of TomoTherapy, this cutting-edge technology provides even more versatility and precision in treating malignant tumors of all sizes. Each patient receives a personalized treatment plan that is customized to his or her specific needs. With image-guided radiation therapy, doctors can determine if there are any changes to the tumor and then make immediate adjustments to a patient's treatment. TomoTherapy's unique delivery pattern allows the radiation to conform to the tumor and avoid healthy tissues and organs, resulting in improved outcomes, fewer side effects from treatment, and a higher quality of life for patients.

CRH's TomoHD unit was one of the first to be installed in North America. It matches the machine that was installed at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center at University of Virginia Health System, allowing patients to transfer treatment between the two facilities when necessary.
