Radiation Oncology
We are pleased to announce that the Culpeper Regional Hospital Radiation Oncology Service in Partnership with UVA Health System is now open. Patients will no longer have to travel long distances to receive radiation therapy treatment. This new service compliments the well-established medical oncology practice, H.O.P.E. and brings highly specialized UVA physicians and staff to our community to deliver state-of-the-art radiation therapy using the TomoTherapy Hi-Art treatment system.
With only four other machines in Virginia, this cutting-edge technology is the first of its kind in our region. TomoTherapy uses a fresh approach and new design to treat malignant tumors. Tomo delivers radiation doses that conform to the tumor and minimize exposure to surrounding healthy tissue, resulting in improved outcomes, fewer side effects and a higher quality of life.
Dedicated to providing exceptional care and treatment, our radiation oncology team consists of highly qualified UVA physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists and nurses, who have advanced subspecialty expertise in radiation oncology, a proven track record with TomoTherapy technology, and an empathetic understanding.
